Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Chart Playback is a tool for repeated practice of trading decisions and review using historical charts.

Scope and acceptance

These Terms apply to use of the Chart Playback official site, web app, guest use, and member features that the operator begins to provide. The authoritative public text of these Terms is this page on the official site.

By using the service, users are deemed to agree to these Terms. When using member features, users will be asked on screen to explicitly agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Users who do not agree cannot use member features, but may view these documents and log out.

Purpose of the service

Chart Playback is a tool for practicing trading decisions, position management, record keeping, and review with historical charts. It does not direct investment decisions, show trade timing, identify particular securities, forecast future price movements, execute broker orders, or conduct real transactions in financial instruments.

The login-free guest demo using fictional sample instruments and free-member features are currently available. Conditions for free-member features follow these Terms and the guidance in the service or on the official site.

Member features and accounts

When using member features, users use their own Chart Playback member account through Google sign-in or email OTP. Users must manage authentication information and sign-in email securely and not allow unauthorized use by others.

Transfer, lending, sale, or permission for others to use an account is prohibited. If users become aware of possible unauthorized use, they must promptly contact the operator.

Minors using the service should obtain consent from a parent or other legal representative where necessary.

Practice data and CSV

When using a feature to load data, users must confirm that they hold the necessary rights or authority for the data and must not load data that is unlawful, improperly obtained, or infringes third-party rights.

Users must check the accuracy, completeness, and currency of CSV and other data they prepare. The operator does not assure such data as information for investment decisions. Saved-item limits, supported formats, and other conditions will be explained in the service or on the official site.

Browser storage

Guest data and practice data handled by initial member features are, in principle, stored in the browser on the user's device. Initial member features do not include cloud storage on the operator's servers or automatic sync to another device or browser.

Minimum information necessary to provide member features, such as authentication information, plan, and the version and time of agreement to the Terms or Privacy Policy, may be processed or stored on the server.

Browser data may be lost due to deletion, device or browser changes, malfunctions, or other circumstances. Users manage necessary data themselves; the operator does not assure permanent storage or recovery of browser data.

Practice results and investment decisions

Orders, positions, and settlements shown on screen are practice records, not real orders or transactions. Displayed profit and loss, fees, and other calculations are simplified or for practice and do not assure actual transaction results.

Taxes, fees, slippage, liquidity, execution conditions, and other real-trading factors may not be fully reproduced. Historical-chart practice results do not indicate future investment outcomes. Users are responsible for real investment decisions based on displays or practice results and should consult a qualified professional where necessary.

Prohibited conduct

Users must not violate laws or public order and morals, infringe third-party rights, access without authorization, circumvent authentication or access controls or restrictions through multiple accounts, impersonate others, or transfer, lend, or sell accounts.

Users must not impose excessive load, exploit vulnerabilities, send viruses, malware, or other harmful code, use unlawful or infringing CSV or other data, unlawfully copy, reproduce, sell, analyze, or reverse engineer the service, content, or data beyond what is permitted by law, or otherwise interfere with operation of the service.

Users must not engage in other conduct that the operator reasonably determines to be inappropriate.

Intellectual property

Rights in the service UI, text, images, logos, programs, and other content belong to the operator or legitimate rights holders. These Terms do not transfer ownership to users.

Rights in CSV and other data prepared by users remain with users or original rights holders. The operator does not acquire rights in user data beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

Service changes, interruption, and termination

The operator may change, interrupt, or terminate the service when necessary for maintenance, failures, security responses, failures of external services, force majeure, or other reasons. Important changes or termination will be announced on the official site or otherwise where possible, but advance notice may not be possible in an emergency.

The operator does not assure that the service will be provided permanently.

Suspension and account actions

The operator may restrict member-feature use or suspend an account for violations of these Terms, unauthorized use, or security needs. Where there is no urgency, the operator will explain the reason or response where possible.

Users may delete their account according to guidance in the service. Information may remain for a certain period after deletion where required by law or for records of responses to misconduct.

Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The operator does not assure accuracy, completeness, currency, continuity, fitness for a particular purpose, absence of defects or interruptions for the service, displayed content, data prepared by users, or external data. It also does not assure particular investment outcomes or avoidance of losses.

Except for intentional conduct or gross negligence, the operator is not liable, to the extent permitted by law, for damage caused to users by use of or inability to use the service. Where disclaimer or limitation is not permitted by the Consumer Contract Act or other laws, applicable law prevails to that extent.

External services and links

The service may use external services for authentication, delivery, analytics, email, and other purposes. Content and availability of external sites or services are subject to each provider's terms and are not fully assured by the operator.

See the Privacy Policy for details on information handling and analytics.

Changes to these Terms

The operator may change these Terms in response to changes in laws, functions, or operations. Changes and their effective date will be announced on the official site; changes with a material effect on users' rights and obligations will be announced in advance by a reasonable method.

Users of member features may be asked to agree again for material changes. Re-agreement is not requested for every minor wording correction.

Severability, governing law, and jurisdiction

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.

These Terms are governed by Japanese law. Jurisdiction for disputes concerning the service will be determined in accordance with applicable law.
